Older Americans Act

In 1965 Congress passed the Older Americans Act in response to the growing number of older people. The Older Americans Act has been amended several times since 1965 to develop a wide range of services and opportunities for older americans, especially those at risk of losing their independence.

The Older Americans Act Grant allows Oxford HealthCare's Community Care Division to help the frail elderly stay in their homes. Our homemaker program provides direct help to seniors and caregivers of seniors, without regard to ability to pay. There is no charge for services. Donations are accepted and go directly to providing additional services to seniors.

Eligibility for this program is determined by age (60 years or older) and need (physical limitations that interfere with their ability to conduct the kind of services offered).

Oxford's Older Americans Act Grant services are offered in Tulsa, Creek, and Osage counties in northeast Oklahoma.
